MEMORIES Aside from receiving a fine education at Penn State, my fondest memories are of people and work. I was a waiter in "Mac Hall" for four years when the facility was a freshmen women's dorm. I was an immature, naive (some would say stupid) young man. I naturally fell in "LOVE" with a number of beautiful young ladies. They turned out to be wiser and more mature than I. They promptly and properly "dumped" me. I remember working as a driver for Home Delivery Pizzeria. I was paid the princely some of $1.00 an hour. Once I had shown my dependability I was granted a raise by the owners (Fritz and Artie)to a full $1.25. This wasn't bad when you realize that room rent went for between five and ten dollars a week. Other fine memories have to do with my major Phys Ed. I rubbed elbows with or saw some truly great athletes. I was also fortunate to run across a young quarterbacks coach by the name of JOE PATERNO. He didn't know me from ADAM. It was a long time ago, but as "THEY" say, "The things that makes the good old times the good old times are a long time and a poor memory".
